coconut chai oat smoothie

coconut chai oat smoothie
Out of all the non dairy beverages out there, oat milk is totally new to me. I was taken back of amazing it tasted, truthfully I was a little apprehensive at first- oat milk? I had it stuck in my mind it was going to be gritty and grassy- boy was I wrong! Oat milk is quickly becoming a favorite - just a tad sweet and totally silky smooth, making it the perfect non dairy milk to add to my morning smoothies.

I absolutely love a good chai- specifically a hot chai latte. However, with warmer weather here to stay I needed a summer chai beverage. Let me introduce to you the coconut chai oat smoothie- refreshing, cold and sweet- the perfect smoothie to indulge in after a morning run or afternoon in the garden.

You can use fresh, flaked, shredded, sweetened or unsweetened coconut- what ever you prefer. If you have a high powered blender there is really no need to soak the dates, however if you do not soaking the dates will make your life much easier. Use your favorite instant chai blend, tea or spices. I used my instant chai tea {here}.

  2. I've never tried oat milk, but you make it sound so tasty! Plus, it's very cool that there aren't any added sweeteners. Often boxed non-dairy milks are sweeter than I'd prefer.

My favorite summer drinks are fresh juices. I make a lot of cucumber/red bell pepper/tomato/celery juice, but any freshly squeezed vegetable juice is a hit.

  13. I made oat milk once...it didn't turn out too well, it was kind of slimy. I am sure the kind you can buy in the store is much better! I'm a sucker for any kind of lemonade!

  18. My favorite summer smoothie lately has been more of a slushy, which I've made with frozen pineapple, celery, spinach, and water. I also love making cherry banana smoothies, and sometimes I actually add oats so I'd love to try making it with oat milk, too.
